A little bit about myself...
A Quick Summary:
I've been drawing on and off for as long as I can remember. Growing up in New England, I developed a strong love for the ocean. When I saw the film Jaws (1975) for the first time at about six or seven, I became fascinated with sharks. Conservation of marine life has been a huge passion of mine ever since, and today I volunteer for several non-profit organizations that work towards the cause. Recently I had the opportunity to travel to Guadeloupe and cage dive with great white sharks, which was an absolute dream come true!
Sharks and marine life are often the subject matter of my art, but the cartoons I grew up watching are what influenced my art style. My childhood took place in the 90's, so I got to witness the animated films of the Disney Renaissance. Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network were my favorite go-to TV stations after school. I also spent MANY hours playing Nintendo and was greatly inspired by games such as Pokemon and Animal Crossing. Over the years, I developed a cartoon style that had both American and Japanese influences. A few accomplishments I'm proud of is copyrighting my own original characters and creating a plush of one of my favorites.
